Wagner: Overture “Tannhäuser” (Beginning with “whining” sound) Symphonic Orchestra Venezuela – 2. Buenos Aires 5 May 1950, Teatro Colón: F. Schubert: Ballet Music No. 2 and Interlude No. 3 from “Rosamunde” Orchestra of the Teatro Colón (poor sound quality) - 3. Alexandria 25 April 1951 (?) J. Brahms: Symphony No. 3 in F major Op. 90 This recording could also be from the concert on 27 April 1954 in Berlin, which was published in higher sound quality by DGG. This record was produced for the 50th anniversary of Furtwängler’s death by the English Furtwängler Society and is of mainly historical interest. Nevertheless, the Caracas recordings are worthwhile for the liveliness of the interpretation.
